Given the recent changes in ILCA leadership including Tracy Usher as President of ILCA, and Andy Roy and Meka Taulbee as Chairman and Vice-chairman of ILCA in North America, not to mention Eric Faust as ILCA General Manager, I am confident we will see some real progress in solving the difficult issues currently facing the class.
After following up on a few rumblings behind the scene, I'm afraid I've lost my confidence. I'm not in favor of pushing Bruce Kirby out of the picture and the last official position of the ILCA is that they intended to do exactly that. While that was the old leadership, I realized that I have not seen any indication of a reversal in that position under the new leadership. We've heard absolutely nothing about their intentions other than the same party line of the old leadership about doing what is in the best interest of the class ... fool me once ...
There is something about the extended silence that feels very wrong. That's not leadership. Specifics and details don't need to be shared but a departure from the mushroom crap would certainly be a step in the right direction. It's a step I expected would have been taken some time ago and as I wait ... I grow concerned that nothing has actually changed.

Wow - Pam - I feel you got it 100% right. Bruce (Gantt)
ReplyDeleteThe writing was on the wall. I really wish I'd gotten it wrong.
